One year WISER!

It’s that time of the year when I contemplate my life because I’ve turned one year wiser. How old am I, you ask? Well, if you must know, I turned 21 for the 14th time. For those of you who are mathematically challenged, I’m 35 years wise. Damn, I’m getting old!

Usually, I’m excited when my birthday rolls around and I want to plan some fun event to celebrate but this year was not the case. I feel like I’ve done everything I wanted to do in the past for my birthday and all I wanted to do was chill and go wherever the wind blew me.

I’m tired of planning my own parties (even though I’m a control freak who ruins surprises). I wanted to enjoy hanging out with family and friends but I wasn’t sure about the setting in which this event should take place. Since I was so indecisive, I just decided to invite some friends and family to happy hour of course. It also happened to be the most illustrious Sorority’s 52nd National Convention which took place in Houston this past weekend so you know I found something else to get into.

Overall, last week and this past weekend was very memorable, eventful and fun filled. I had lunch the day before my birthday with one of my good girlfriends. On my actual birthday, I had dinner with my family. From Friday to Sunday, I hung out with my bestie, friends and the Sawrah’s (aka Soror’s). However, the icing on the cake was having dinner with my parents and bestie on Saturday night.

Even though the festivities came to an end, I had orientation at my new place of employment today in a new city. I know the best is yet to come! On my drive home, I began thinking about making a small bucket list to complete during the next 5 years before I turn the BIG 4-0! So here goes….

1. Visit a new country once a year.
2. Go skydiving.
3. Go on a mission trip.
4. Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.
5. Live a more healthier lifestyle.

If you have any other ideas you think might interest me or that I should add to my list, feel free to comment below. Also, take a look at the pics from this past weekend’s events.
